Change is said to be the only
constant thing in life, and that is the truth of life. Though change can either
be positive or negative, for better or for worse, depending on the individual
and the surrounding circumstances. A change in thought patterns, mind-set and
attitudes or character is often a daunting task that most individuals strive towards;
but unfortunately per se, that kind of change is often the hardest to effect
naturally considering the fact that a natural man has a weak self-will and he
can hardly subdue the insatiable yearnings of his flesh.
However, that change is both needful and also possible; because the direction one’s life takes is often predetermined by one’s thought patterns, mental attitude, character and habits. A quest for the right knowledge and a good understanding, motivated by a strong will for a positive change is the beginning of a lasting change.
However, that change is both needful and also possible; because the direction one’s life takes is often predetermined by one’s thought patterns, mental attitude, character and habits. A quest for the right knowledge and a good understanding, motivated by a strong will for a positive change is the beginning of a lasting change.
Summarized in the four (4)
steps below are the Laws of Positive Change:
1. The Law of Self-Examination: finding out “Why
you act the way you do!” This is the first step after the initial will for a
positive change. The solution to any problem often begins with finding out the
root cause or source of the problem. "Changing the way you act begins with
finding out why you act the way you do!” Examining one’s own self and getting
the necessary answers is a major requirement.
2. The Law of Self-Recognition: finding out “Who you really are!” within yourself without
self-deception, and also who others think you are. "You cannot become a
better you, until you discover and accept the current you!" Self-deception
is an enemy of true change! Recognize and understand your true self and your
inability to effect a lasting change by your own will and ability.
3. The Law of Self-Obligation: understanding that “It is your job!”, notwithstanding who
or what the cause is or was; it remains your sole responsibility to do what you
have to do to save your own life and that of your generations to come; knowing
that laying blames on your past, your family background, your lack of education
or even on God, would not help or change your situation, and would not also
save you on the day of judgment. "The responsibility to change you is
yours and yours alone!" Don’t try to explain it away, but rather make it
your obligation to change it.
4. The Law of Divine-Illumination: finding out “Who God made you to be!” according to His
Word, and by totally surrendering your heart and your all to Him. Then He will
help you do what you cannot do by yourself and by the empowerment of His Holy
Spirit in you, He will enable you to both change and maintain the positive
change; having gained good understanding by the entrance of the light of His
Word, knowing that He loves you and wants the best for you, and with Him,
nothing is impossible. "The real you is who God made you to be; not who
the world has made you!" When seeking to discover your true purpose in
life, do not look first inside yourself or outside yourself, but rather look up
to God. Only He, your Creator can help you discover the real you and find
fulfillment in life.
If you believe in God, then also believe in His power and ability. He wants you to be who He made you to be, no matter your past or present condition. As long as you have life, it is never too late to make a change, and your future can still be guaranteed. God’s Word says; “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” The barrier between you and the change you desire is the distance between you and God. When you’ve acknowledged your need for His help by coming close to Him, He will surely come to your aid.
A change on the outside begins with
a change on the inside. Change is inside out, not outside in! And only God’s
Spirit can effect a lasting inside change in you. A person having the Spirit of
God will also bear the good fruits of God’s Holy Spirit, expressed both in
words and in deeds.
It is God’s help you need! Simply
ask Him sincerely in prayer and He will surely grant you the desires of your
heart.
Again! With God, a change is
possible and it begins in you!
Nice Day Friends!
