The Devil is widely known and
identified with anything evil, and he is never up to any good, that being
completely true; but is this spiritual entity always responsible for all the evils we see around us today? Because
we find that more blames for evil deeds are often apportioned to him than any
individual on earth; and being physically voiceless, he ends up being given
more blames than he would have taken; and then we find many unknowingly glorifying the Devil’s
ability to do evil than God’s ability to do good.
The Devil does exist and he is evil and Yes! He is a problem,
but actually, he is not always the problem; his power is never as magnificent
as it is made to seem; his power is only in his ability to deceive and derail a
person, his strength is only in his craftiness and sneakiness.
The Devil does not have the key to open
the door and enter into anyone’s life, everyone has the keys to theirs and the Devil
only has the ability to deceive one into opening the door for him to enter; he
doesn’t open doors, he only enters already opened doors; he does not create
loopholes, he only utilizes already-made loopholes. Just as the Word says, “…he goes to and fro, seeking whom he may
devour.”; meaning he does not and cannot devour just anybody but he looks
for the body with his kind of atmosphere and prepared ready for his activities.
Judas was never predestined to be Jesus’ betrayer (which would seem unjust
before a God who loves all); but an unrepentant
body was needed for the job and his was just right since he would not change
from his greed and love of money; even in the midst of all of Christ’s
teachings as His disciple. It was not predestined that he would be the one; it
was his choices that made him the one!
A wise man once said “The
Devil is only as strong as your relationship with God is weak” and that’s the
truth of life. The Word says “Submit
yourselves unto God; resist the Devil and he will flee from you.” Your
ability to resist the Devil is only determined by how submissive you are to
God. Remaining under God’s protective covering entails maintaining a continuous
relationship and fellowship with Him in the studying of His Word and in prayer.
The Devil does not afflict anyone without their consent or permission. Any
willful acts of disobedience and rebellion to God’s orders would often remove
one from God’s protective covering, thereby opening the door for the enemy to
come in and cause afflictions. He is called the
accuser; and funny how he would accuse one before God of doing what he deceived one into doing in the first
place. But thank God for the cleansing power in the blood of Jesus Christ,
which washes our hearts daily from every dead works and obtains forgiveness for
us from the Father.
Ignorance, in reality, is actually
more destructive than the Devil. The Word says “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”; not because of the
Devil. A wise man once said “What you
don’t know might be killing you”. The door of ignorance is a common one,
into which the Devil smiles through with ease. When you don’t know who you are,
the Devil will tell you who you are not; when you don’t know what you have, the
Devil will sell what he has to you; when you don’t know better than he does, and
the Devil will teach you from what he knows.
“Ignorance kills faster than the Devil!”
Even God may not be able to help a man who has willingly refused
to seek for and rightly apply the knowledge which God has made available in His
Word.
The Devil said to Eve, “Did
God say….?” and to Jesus, “If you
are…”; he didn’t ask because he never knew, he actually asked because he
knew; he was only looking for avenues to utilize his skill of suggestions and deceptions
to his advantage as usual; and till this day he still does the same; his ideas!
“Did God say you should…”, “Did God’s
Word say you shouldn’t…”, “But…” ; then while trading words with the Devil,
one falls for his trick without even knowing it.
A believer’s only weapon of victory
is to have a working knowledge of the
Word of God, also called the Sword of the Spirit, which is his offensive weapon
in spiritual warfare. Just as with Christ; the Devil tempts and keeps tempting
every believer to rebel against God, but he only succeeds with those who do not
know what he knows. He does not and will not easily play around an arena
glowing with the light from the Sword of the Spirit.
"The Devil does not take
advantage of what he knows; he takes advantage of what you do not know!"
It’s said that Knowledge is power! “Your knowledge of the Word of God is your power against the works of
the Devil!”
Go for knowledge! Escape the trap of ignorance and the Devil,
and with the empowerment of God’s Holy Spirit in you, you will emerge
victorious always!
Nice Day Friends!
