Death is said
to be an inevitable reality; but be that as it may, when a man dies, the next
point of question would usually be ‘what did he leave behind?’, an appreciable
legacy or a bad trail of a life badly spent?...Consideration now goes to the
goals he had, his targets and how much of them he succeeded in achieving…However,
the real measure of how a life was lived is only discovered when the life has
ended…
Accomplishments
and achievements in life is not just a measure of how much material possessions
were acquired; that is often the perspective before the eyes of men, but God
has a different point of view…God’s measurement is by ‘how much of His given
talents or gifting was utilized and put into proper use?’ and ‘how much of His
endowments in potentials was used to fulfill the assignments for which He gave
them?’ and ‘How many lives were blessed out of the number He intended for
blessing an individual materially or otherwise?’…Those are God’s yardsticks for
measuring how well or how badly a life He gave was spent…
No one is
born on earth without a purpose and assignment, neither is any born without a
skill, gifting or talent, either naturally or by acquisition through learning…In
that parable of Christ, on the ten talents; each one was given one talent, and
inherent in each talent was the ability to succeed and multiply into even greater
talents, depending on how each person utilized his; and the instruction was “Occupy,
trade or do business with this, till I come!”, and of course accountability would
be expected at that return…
Note! The
instruction was ‘not’, “Make profit or make money with this…”; profit is
definitely expected, but not guaranteed; it depends on the skill and strategy
one decides to employ… Faithfulness comes first, then a quest for true impact on
lives before the profit, and that should be the right sequence…When the quest
for profit and material gain comes first, then one has just joined the train heading
towards failure and shame…
God does not
appreciate dormancy of His given talent; just as He said “Any tree that does
not bear fruits is cut off…”…God-given potentials are like bullets, they create
no effect until they are released and they go nowhere until the right trigger
is pulled…
Many are
side-tracked and end up on the wrong path when they ‘decide’ what they ‘think’
is their gifting or talent based on the wealth and fame of some other person
who has same gifting and they covetously desire such too; then in error, they believe
“Profit determines talent and not, talent determines profit!”…True talent can
never be discovered when one spends the ‘most’ time envying, coveting or even
appreciating someone else’s talent…
“The richest
man is ‘not’ he that died having everything but he that died having nothing!” and
“The poorest man is not he that died empty of everything but he that died empty
of nothing!”
Self Wealth-makers
are not true celebrities, Selfless Wealth-givers are! Givers are celebrated and
not takers! Inventors and Creators are the pace and trend setters, not
imitators!
“A man’s gift
maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men”, so the Word says…
You don’t
succeed in someone else’s vision, you succeed in your vision!
To him that
died empty of all potentials, God will say “Well done, good and faithful
servant…”
Discover,
Develop and Deliver yours; someone somewhere is waiting for your manifestation!
