Thoughts for Today - "Fear and Respect!"

Fear is often regarded as a bad feeling; but however, Fear can
sometimes be for an advantage too, that is if viewed from a different
perspective...
Fact is that Fear of one thing or another plays a vital role in
affecting most of our everyday choices and decisions in life...Often,
individuals take actions or steps motivated by fear of a thing, atimes
unknowingly to them...
There is a good fear and there is also a bad fear...The result of an
action taken in fear is only determined by what kind of fear it is...
There is also a world of difference between 'Respect' and 'Fear' when
applied to attitudinal behaviours...Respect is often motivated by a
consideration of who or what a person is or a feeling of admiration,
but Fear may be motivated by a consideration of what power a person
has to do and undo, and d consequences for disregarding d instructions
of such a one...
A child would likely respect his father because he is his father and
he provides all his needs, but he also fears him because he knows d
painful consequences for intentionally disobeying his instructions...
Therefore, True Respect is often born out of a 'good' fear built on d
foundation of true love, while a False Respect is born out of a 'bad'
fear with no atom of real love in it...
However, everyone is guided by certain fears, most times unknowingly
to them; Many are guided by 'bad' fears such as the fear of man, the
fear of tomorrow and the fear of poverty which often leads them to
taking wrong steps and decisions in life...But only a few are truly
led by d only 'good' fear; "The Fear of God"....
"God is 'not' to be respected, He is to be feared" because true
respect is born out of a 'good' fear...Just like dat child, God is
more powerful than an earthly father, He is our caring heavenly Father
who supplies us with all things including Life, but there are also
consequences He has laid down for acts of disobedience and trespassing
the boundaries He has set for us...
Yet! He is a loving father dat loves and wants all to be saved; but He
is also a consuming fire dat won't forever bear a man's acts of
wickedness...
A wise man said "The Fear of God is d begining of wisdom"...A wise man
fears God, but a fool says in his heart 'there is no God'...That, is d
Truth!
Every other 'bad' fear is taken out of place when d 'good' fear of God
is in place in a man's life...
Many have enough space for all d 'bad' fears of life but no place for
d 'good' fear of God; when d eternal consequence for disobeying God's
commands can never be compared to d temporary discomfort for
disregarding any man's instruction...
Again! "A Wise man fears God and God alone."
The fear of man may get you a temporal reward from man; The fear of
tomorrow may get u an uncertainly secured future; The fear of poverty
may gain you a temporal wealth on earth; but none can compare to d
true Fear of God, whose benefits are forever...
You know your true real fear when you could do anything to avoid its
bad consequences...That, is 'Fear'.
