Thoughts for Today - “Free Will”

The ability of free will is yet man’s greatest gift given to him by God his creator; though the same has turned out to become his greatest undoing when he decided to eat of the fruit of the forbidden tree…The seed of disobedience was then sown in the heart of every human born on earth…
Even today, everyone is still victim of their own free will…The will to make the right or the wrong choices, the will to say or do what is right or wrong…However, the consequences of anyone’s will are inevitable and could turn out to affect not just their lives, but that of their unborn generations…
Fact remains that many today are suffering the negative results of the wills of their ancestors, who have set off a wrong path for themselves and their generations…The will of a man is just as productive as it can be destructive to the man; unfortunately, he may never know the end of a path he ‘willed’ to follow, till that end comes upon him suddenly…
Every man became a slave of his own will after the fall of man in the beginning; therefore every intent of every child’s heart became evil and wickedness grows up with him if not carefully dealt with in childhood; not even science has a convincing explanation to the mystery; Even God his creator acknowledges that “The heart of man is desperately wicked…” and He almost regretted about the man He created…
Yet, God in His infinite mercy provided a remedy for man’s salvation through the death of His only Son so that through believe in Him, one can be free from the bondage of one’s own will and be brought under the ever productive will of God, thereby escaping damnation…Though to acknowledge, believe and receive the power to live above one’s free will is a choice one has to make; God’s wish is that everyone be saved…But even as powerful as He is, He cannot force His will on any man and actually, only a man’s will is stronger than the power of God in his life…
A wise man said “Yes! You are free to do as you like, but you are also free to do as you ought to”… The gift of free will can either be a blessing or a curse depending on how an individual chooses to express and use his…Again! True maturity is not necessarily measured by age but by the ability to utilize one’s free will purposefully and productively in achieving the best results…
No man can of his own free will do God’s will except he has God’s Spirit in him; that is the empowerment; determination alone cannot conquer the power of free will in a man’s life; it existed before him and is beyond him…A supernatural force is definitely required!
Your ‘free will’ will never be in agreement with God’s will except you have His Spirit in you!
