Thoughts for Today - "Nigeria @ 52!"
Nigeria is a great nation, d pride of d African continent...She is blessed with great natural and human resources...She is blessed with diverse ethnic groups and a very vast cultural heritage; yet living together as one in peace and unity...
Its always said dat 'Rome was not built in day'...d making of great nation is a long journey and each day is a step further in d adventure...
A great nation is not just made by great people but by great minds with d right attitudes and positive beliefs towards d achievement of an even greater and better nation...
Nigeria-Though a nation having a history marred by gross 'mis-leadership', greed and corruption, remains our root and home land...The responsibility for making it a better place for us and a safer place for generations yet to come, lies more in our own hands as its citizens than d government in power...
True 'patriotism' is a requirement of every true citizen of a country...being patriotic entails loving one's own home country, representing her positively at every point while defending and supporting her when necessary...
In d light of d present state of affairs and situation of Nigeria; being patriotic could be asking too much of her citizens; but Change is always possible and it begins with a belief in dat possibility and one's conscious decision to always stand for wat is right, even if one is standing alone in d midst of many who have settled for wat is wrong...That is d True spirit of change!
Again, We must never underestimate d power of words and prayers in redirecting d course of our nation...Nigeria and her democracy was not born by accident or by d agreement of some individuals...but God is fully aware of her and her situation, He has a 'will' and purpose for her existence and He is never pleased when wickedness rules any land, for d sake of His people...Truth be told, Nigeria still exists today definitly not becos we've had d best leaders recently but becos of d cries and prayers of its good people, and dat is d only way forward, so we cannot relent in our efforts...
No leader is elected into position witout God's knowledge and approval; He owns d earth and everything in it, including d hearts of leaders, and we hav seen Him remove and replace them in mysterious ways sometimes...
Our duty as good citizens is to remain good citizens, keep praying for Nigeria and her leaders, and most importantly, always speak hope and positivity towards her; She hears those words and she will becom wat u say about her someday...
You may not be opportune to advice d president, but you can always advice yourself and those around you...
A change is always possible, but it begins first 'in' you!
Nigeria is 52, she would yet grow older; and no matter what, we hav reasons to be grateful to God...so Happy Independence to Nigeria, Nigerians and Lovers of Nigeria!
Pls always Rep her aright! God bless us all!
